Beacon House Care Home Sponsors Dartmouth Swifts Girls’ Football Team in Celebration of Local Girl Power

Beacon House Care Home in Dartmouth, part of Centrum Care Homes Group, is proudly supporting the next generation of local female footballers through its sponsorship of Dartmouth Swifts grassroots girls’ football team.

The partnership was brought together by October (Tobi) Guiney, Deputy Manager at Beacon House, whose daughter Beau plays for the team. Through the sponsorship, Centrum Care Homes Group has funded new team coats featuring the Centrum logo, helping the girls stay warm, feel united and proudly represent their club at training, matches and community events.

The sponsorship also supports the team’s wider activities, including opportunities to travel, enjoy football inspired days out and see elite women’s football in action, including the Lionesses. The aim is to help inspire confidence, resilience, friendship and ambition among the young players.

The initiative reflects Beacon House’s commitment to being an active part of the Dartmouth community, supporting not only those living in the care home, but also families, children and local groups who help make the town such a close and connected place.

Claire, one of the Dartmouth Swifts coaches, said:

Beau, Tobi’s daughter and one of the players, said:

“I love the coats and I am really proud to showcase my mum’s care home. We really appreciate the sponsorship. So far, we’ve seen the Lionesses, been to a Torquay United fun day with the ladies’ team and had lots of other fun days out. I love the Swifts because everyone is there to have fun and we are all close friends.”

The sponsorship has also been warmly received by parents. 

Toyah, whose daughter Darcie is part of the team, said:

“Darcie is absolutely buzzing to get her jacket. I love this for our girls. Thank you.”
