Importance of trauma-informed relationships with families of service users in care homes (Sally-Anne Tommy) / Posture Care resources and training (Megan Braide, ILC) 10th November 2025
In this session, we were delighted to be joined by Sally-Anne Tommy, Certified Trauma Coach and Doctor of Education & Social Studies. Sally discussed the importance of trauma-informed relationships with families of service users in care homes. Her aim is to help foster a supportive environment that recognises the experiences of families, leading to more positive, collaborative relationships and improved outcomes for residents.
Sally has worked in Education and Social Care for over 30 years, having left an early career in Banking to be more people orientated in her work. Her current work is largely charity related. She delivers specialist webinars and guidance to help bring trauma awareness into practice.
We were also joined by Megan Braide from the Independent Living Centre, a joint NHS and Devon County Council funded service, offering equipment and mobility solutions in Devon. Megan, an experienced Therapist, discussed the various training opportunities and resources available to carers.

About the Speaker:
Hazel’s expertise covers mergers, sales and acquisitions, service user and commissioning contracts, business structure, governance and refinancing. She is an expert in the application of the CMA Guidance on care contracts and regularly on negotiating local authority framework agreements and tenders. Hazel also assists care providers in fee negotiations with funders.

Led by two of Indago Development's leadership coaches, Bhavin Tailor and Kristian Frantzen, this training session focused on reflective leadership, emphasising self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Bhavin and Kristian discussed the impact of leadership on team dynamics, highlighting the importance of setting a positive tone and addressing blame culture.
Key takeaways included grounding oneself in personal values, maintaining a positive outlook, and addressing issues at their root cause. The session concluded with practical tips for new leaders, such as seeking mentorship and building emotional resilience.
