Bliss Care and Harbour Rise take part in the World Walks Against Dementia
On 7th September, over 100 participants, including individuals from Bliss Care and Harbour Rise Care Home, braved the rain to take part in the World Walks Against Dementia.
The World Walks Against Dementia is a global iniative, founded by Norman McNamara and the Global Purple Angel Campaign. Thousands of individuals, across 49 countries, took part in various walks to help raise awareness and support for those affected by dementia.
As stated on the Alzheimer's Society website, 'Around 1 million people in the UK are living with dementia, and this is projected to rise to 1.4 million in 20240. The scale and the need to prevent, diagnose, support, live and die well with dementia will only become greater.'
