Oral Health Improvement Training

The NHS Oral Health Improvement Team are now taking bookings from June 2026 onwards!
If you are based within Devon (excluding Plymouth and Torbay) then please get in touch to book some face to face training with one of our extremely knowledgeable OHI practitioners.
We are offering an interactive 2.5 hour face to face training session for the staff and managers at your setting (including a 10 minute comfort break) and it is completely free of charge. Each attendee will receive a CPD certificate on completion.
Our aim is to provide the staff with the skills to maintain good oral health of the people that they care for, and to do this we have formulated a presentation that outlines (but is not limited to) the following information:
- The consequences of poor oral health
- Diet and its impact on the teeth and gums
- Causes, symptoms and how to prevent tooth decay
- Techniques and support for helping people of all abilities to maintain good oral hygiene
It is a CQC requirement that all staff are trained in oral healthcare - and we advise that staff are trained annually.
To book some training with us, please fill out our booking form.
Due to the popularity of this training we do have a minimum requirement of 6 attendees per session – if you are still interested in receiving training but are low on numbers get in contact and we can look at combining settings.
