Puppy Love: A Heartwarming Activity

At Castle Grove, we are always looking for ways to engage our residents in meaningful and enjoyable activities. Recently, we were delighted to receive a request from a friend and former care home owner, who told us about a special occasion: their mum’s golden retriever was about to give birth to a litter of adorable puppies! With nine lively little furballs to care for, they reached out to us for some much-needed supplies, and we were more than happy to help.

Our dedicated team at Castle Grove sprang into action.  A perfect way to recycle old newspapers and assist the puppy owners in preparing for the arrival of these playful pups. This initiative not only supports our community but also sparked an exciting activity for our residents, lead by our Activities Coordinator, Keziah Norris.

As we put together our donation box, we decided to turn this occasion into a fun and interactive event. Our residents joined in, reminiscing about the dogs they had loved and cared for throughout their lives. Sharing stories about their furry companions brought back joyful memories and happiness as they remembered their playful antics and quirky habits.

One of the highlights of this activity will be naming one of the puppies! We believe this will be a wonderful opportunity for our residents to contribute their ideas and creativity. Whether it’s a name inspired by a beloved pet or a name that reflects the playful spirit of puppies, we’re excited to see what our residents come up with.

This initiative not only strengthens our community ties but also reinforces the important role that animals play in our lives, bringing joy, companionship, and comfort. We look forward to sharing updates on the puppies and our naming activity as we celebrate the strong bonds between humans and animals.

Stay tuned for more Castle Grove ‘pupdates'!
