Southern Healthcare Award

Huge congratulations to Southern Healthcare on winning the Care Group of the Year category at the prestigious Caring UK Awards 2025, held in Leicester on 4th December.

Southern Healthcare was founded in 2001 by Geoffrey Cox. Together with his wife, Margot Whittaker, they have become well-known advocates for radical change in the care sector, locally and nationally.

They own four care homes in Devon: Sefton Hall in Dawlish, The Old Rectory in Exeter, The Seaton in Seaton and Parkwood House in Plymouth. They also offer innovative training opportunities for local care providers.

Geoffrey Cox had this to say in relation to their recent award:

At Southern Healthcare, we featured as finalists this year in more different care awards and categories than ever, but hadn't won any of the categories.

Anyway, we were genuinely shocked, but absolutely delighted to win the Caring UK 'Care Group of the Year' last Thursday night at Leicester.

I cannot overstate what that means to the people we took, the teams back at base, Margot and myself, and moreover to be part of a wider community that is so genuinely appreciative, supportive and encouraging. It gives people a massive lift.

We welcome anyone to join in with the training we do.
