Ukraine needs help now more than ever!

UKRAINE NEEDS HELP NOW MORE THAN EVER! The peace talks are getting nowhere and still the missiles and drones are killing and maiming scores of Ukrainians – civilians in towns and cities, as well as soldiers on the front lines.
Many organisations in UK are seeking to relieve their suffering, including several in Devon. Prominent amongst these is ‘UKRAINIAN ACTION - TEAM DEVON’, based in Stoke Gabriel in the South Hams. They featured in this BBC SPOTLIGHT piece in April.
Working with organisers in London, Team Devon regularly sends aid to Ukraine – and leaves there the vehicles which deliver it. These are put to good use in many different ways. The aid is used by medical teams, rescue organisations, and rehabilitation centres.
Team Devon is generously supported by local hospitals and GP surgeries, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue, Devon and Cornwall Police, and many individuals who have donated money and even vehicles.
Team Devon now hopes to provide Devon’s Care Homes with the opportunity to help too. After a pilot in June in Paignton and Brixham, this appeal is being widened to address all Devon Care Homes members in Torbay and the South Hams. Full details of the range of items and material needed, and how to get in touch with Team Devon, is given here.
Team Devon is very aware of the load on care homes just now, not least in finding and keeping staff in the face of many obstacles, so this appeal might not win support from all – so they would be grateful for any donation, of whatever size.
DCHC fully supports this initiative and hopes a good number of member homes and supporters will wish to get involved.
Please help if you can!
