UKRAINE NEEDS OUR HELP - Brixham and Paignton!

Ukrainian Action Team Devon, based in the South Hams, is a volunteer organisation seeking to relieve suffering in war-torn Ukraine.

The peace talks are getting nowhere and still the missiles, bombs and drones are killing and maiming scores of Ukrainians – civilians in towns and cities, as well as soldiers on the front lines.

Team Devon fundraise to buy pickup trucks, vans and minibuses and deliver them to Poland. With help from Ukrainian friends, the vehicles, packed with aid, make their way to medical teams, rescue organisations, and rehabilitation centres in Ukraine. Team Devon recently featured on BBC SPOTLIGHT having donated their 50th vehicle in support of Ukraine. Five more will go in their next convoy in late June.

Team Devon is generously supported by local hospitals and GP surgeries, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue, Devon and Cornwall Police, and many individuals who have donated money and even vehicles.

Team Devon is now providing Devon Care Homes Collaborative the opportunity to help too. For capacity reasons, they are limiting their scope to just Brixham and Paignton homes and if their initial trial succeeds, this scope will be widened.

Donations of any surplus or time-expired stock would be greatly appreciated. More details of what to include can be found on the document, Brixham and Paignton Appeal.

Team Devon will collect from any care homes in Brixham or Paignton between 11th and 14th June. To arrange collection, please SMS or WhatsApp Julian Williams on 07762 112736, to whom any queries may also be addressed.
