Devon Care Homes Nursing Education Forum

DCHC has collaborated with Indago Development and Southern Healthcare to bring a series of learning sessions for registered nurses and other clinicians working in and with social care.

Join us for our next Forum on 17th December at 2pm with a focus on End-of-Life Care.

In this session, we'll be joined by Rowcroft Hospice and Gabriela Ogreanu, Registered Manager at Sefton Hall Care Home.

Gabriela has a background in nursing, but chose to support others through a leadership role. This role enables her to influence how individuals with complex behaviours, related to dementia and other conditions, are cared for.

Sefton Hall became an End-of-Life Gold Standard Framework care home in August this year. Gabriela has learnt, through this programme, how best to support residents, families, and staff, especially during the most sensitive moments of someone’s life.

Gabriela’s talk will focus on the importance of Advance Care Planning. Not so much from a clinical angle, but from the emotional and human perspective – the small, overlooked details that can make a big difference, but are sometimes missed in the rush of a busy day.
 
Gabriela will also share some of the changes Sefton Hall has implemented and how these changes have transformed the way they approach End-of-Life care.
