Devon Care Homes Nursing Education Forum

DCHC has collaborated with Indago Development to bring a series of learning sessions for registered nurses and other clinicians working in and with social care.

We are delighted that Lucy Hernaman, Nurse at Heanton Nursing Home, has agreed to deliver a session sharing her knowledge and experience in skin care and wound management.

This session will cover:

Basic skin care principles, including cream application

Basic wound management and tissue viability

Wound management documentation, including pressure damage

Lucy has been a qualified nurse since 2009 and worked as a carer for six years prior to this. She has a special interest in palliative care, wound management, and pain management:

"I have worked at Heanton Nursing Home for five years and find everyday a new challenge but love my career and love to help new nurses or care practitioners advance their knowledge through mentoring and training".
