DCHC has collaborated with Indago Development to bring a series of learning sessions for registered nurses and other clinicians working in and with social care.

Stiffness and Shaking

At our next session, we'll be joined by Peter Burbridge, Community Geriatrician, who visits people living with advanced frailty in their own homes, including care homes, across Plymouth and East Cornwall.

Movement problems such as stiffness, shaking and slowness are common, particularly in people living with dementia. These symptoms can cause distress and uncertainty for staff, residents and their loved ones. Accessing specialist assessment through standard hospital clinics can be challenging and questions often remain unanswered.

This session will explain some common movement-related problems and explore what may - and may not - be helpful in practice.
